Determination

Mom, watch! I'm going to crawl. Ready??
First, I have to get onto all fours, like this...

Then...wait, my transmission's stuck in reverse!!!

I think I can, I think I can....

Flop! Darn!

Hmmm, maybe if I just...yes...like this...ugh...THERE! I'm sitting! All by myself :-)

'k, off to try this crawling thing again...

Say Cheese!

Graham's six month pictures are done, and like everything Mod4 Photographic does, they're incredible! View them here! Password is: ferndale

And since we're sharing, check out my new chompers (please excuse the "deer in headlights" look, it's hard to take a picture of yourself!), courtesy of Dr. Degenhardt:

First Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all of my friends and family! I certainly enjoyed my first Mother's Day - I was treated to a delicious brunch (at Big Rock! nomnom!), an hour massage, and a day spent hanging out with my boys. It was great to kick back, spend the afternoon in my jammies, and just relax with my fam.

Because she's pretty darn important in my life, I spent the day before Mother's Day with my mommy. My sister and I met up with her for an afternoon of shopping, facials and dessert. If you've never tried the carrot cake at J. Alexanders, I HIGHLY recommend it. It's too delicious for words, and definitely big enough to share! And because it's a hilarious picture, I HAVE to post this one:

I LOVE YOU MOM!
Happy Mother's Day, thanks for making me the super mom I am, I learned from the best :-)

Goldfish, Guppies and My Little Shrimp

Today, Graham is 6 months old! SIX! MONTHS! 180 days! Half a year! Where the hell has the time gone? One minute, he was just a little, smooshy blob of baby, all yummy smelling and precious. Then I blinked, and he's a hefty, loud(!), adorable, goofy little BOY! The last six months have been both more rewarding and infinitely more challenging than I ever could have imagined. I wake each morning, not knowing what adventures this day is going to bring, and each evening I got to bed more enraptured by and more in love with this little man I call my son.

We spent the morning of Graham's half-birthday at his very first swim lesson! We went to the Birmingham YMCA, which is also where Graham's daddy learned to swim. My little fish certainly enjoyed his time in the pool, and I have to say, so did I (at least, I did, until I saw pictures of myself. Ugh. Perhaps I should be hitting the gym at the Y? Or maybe just not eating so many cookies? Hmmm....). We're reallly looking forward to the rest of our lessons!

No idea what he's in for....

Testing out the water....

Huh, it's kinda like a big bathtub...

Whoa! We're moving, Mom!!! I'm not so sure about this...

Hi Dad!

Swimming's pretty fun :-)
